The Classical Association of Scotland, founded in 1902, exists to promote and sustain classical studies in Scotland. A particular focus is the support of classical studies in Latin in Scottish schools. With the support of Classics for All, we are working to engender interest in Classics at all levels, while also ensuring that there is an adequate number of trained professionals to nurture the next generation of classicists in Scotland.
The Association includes representation from all four of the ancient Scottish universities where Classics is taught: St Andrews, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh, and with them organises the annual STAGE meeting of Scottish postgraduates in Classics and Ancient History. Our Glasgow/West Coast and Edinburgh/East coast centres organise activities and talks throughout the year (see tabs above for details).
If you are interested in Classics, this is the place to be: come and join us.
CAS members are welcome to attend SCPC events.
